Chesterfield Badminton League
FAQ
In this section we will try and answer any frequently asked questions that you may have about the league. How many teams can a club enter and how much does it cost?
Within reason we will accept any number of teams. The first team is £10, and any subsequent teams entered are £5.
How many people can I bring to the AGM and where is it?
Please send only 1 or 2 representatives per club to the AGM. This is normally held at Bookfield School Chesterfield in a classroom, so space is limited hence the restriction.
After the AGM what do I need to do?
Please submit your fixtures, players list and insurance details.
This must be emailed to `scoresheet.cbl@gmail.com` and to `chestbadl2001@aol.com`
Fixtures
All of your home and away games should be listed for each team playing.
Players
You don`t need to have individual players per team, players can cross over, but all members that will be playing in games must be listed including any reserves.
If you have two teams in the same category (e.g. two mixed teams), then you must star your four best players for the `A` team. Please see the `CBL Constitution & Rules` for details, in the `Rules & Documents` menu option.
Insurance
You must provide proof of public liability insurance or Badminton Association of England membership for your club.
FAILURE TO SEND ANY OF THE ABOVE DETAILS COULD RESULT IN POINT DEDUCTION AT THE END OF THE SEASON!
What happens if we have an injury, and we get a none member to step in for us?
As long as you email the players full name and your club details to `scoresheet.cbl@gmail.com`, before the date and time the match starts, we will allow the substitution.
Insurance details for the player are still required, but can be followed up afterwards.
What do I need to do for a match?
Obviously make sure you have enough team members available.
If you are travelling to an away match it is sensible to contact the away captain to make sure the match is still going ahead.
Both teams need to fill in a scoresheet, available to print from the `Rules & Documents` link.
After the match both teams must email a copy of their scoresheet to `scoresheet.cbl@gmail.com`
The winning team has the honour of submitting the result into this website.
I am a team captain and I need an account to submit results, how do I do this?
Please email the committee at `committee@chesterfieldbadminton.co.uk` to request an account. Please let us know which club you play for.
What happens if we run out of time in a match?
Any unfinished games will not count towards the final score, even if one team is slightly ahead when time is called.
When the results are written on the scoresheet, just make a note on the unfinished games that time ran out and the games are void.
On the website you will need to submit an incorrect score as the website checks to make sure that the game totals are equal to 9.
(Example, you need to submit a score on the website of 5_3, then enter 6_3 and enter all the other information as you need).
Then send an email to `committee@chesterfieldbadminton.co.uk` stating that an incorrect score has been submitted and needs correcting giving the game details.
